How it works
Four steps. With your PDF and cover ready, publishing takes under half an hour.
- 1 Open your author account Signing up is free. When you create it, choose the "Author" profile: that unlocks the Author Studio and the dashboard where your published works appear.
- 2 Upload the book and the cover You need the finished manuscript as a PDF and a portrait cover image (2:3 ratio, ideally 1600 × 2400 px). You can also link a PDF hosted elsewhere.
- 3 Fill in the details and the price Title, subtitle, description, language, categories and the price in dollars. The price is yours to set and you can change it any time from your dashboard.
- 4 Send it for review Before a book goes on sale we review it — usually the same day — to keep the catalog in order. Once approved it gets its own page, its search-engine listing and an active buy button, and we email you the link.

What does it cost to publish?
Nothing. Publishing is free and there is no monthly fee. Adonait keeps 30% of the price only when a sale actually happens.
When do I get paid?
Royalties build up in your account and are paid once a month, between the 1st and the 5th, whenever your balance is over 50 dollars. Below that, the balance carries over to the following month.
Do I lose the rights to my book?
No. You keep 100% of the copyright. Publishing here grants us a non-exclusive digital distribution licence, which means you may keep selling the same work on other platforms.
What file format do you need?
PDF. That is what our built-in reader displays. Check it before uploading: the file you upload is exactly the file your reader receives.
Can I change the price or fix the book later?
Yes. From your author dashboard you can edit the details, upload a corrected PDF, change the cover, adjust the price or withdraw the work from the catalog.
Can I publish a free book?
Yes. Set the price to 0 and the work is delivered at no charge. It is a common way to introduce yourself as an author before offering your paid titles.
How long does publishing take?
Every work is reviewed before going on sale; that is usually settled the same day. We email you when it is published, with the link to your page. If something needs fixing we tell you exactly what, and you can submit it again.
Do you accept any content?
We accept work in any genre as long as it is yours or you are authorised to publish it. We do not publish material that infringes third-party rights, constitutes hate speech or breaches our terms, and we remove it if it appears later. If your work was written or illustrated with the help of artificial intelligence, please say so in the description.
Do I need an ISBN?
Not to sell on Adonait Books. If you already have one you may mention it in the description; if you plan to distribute through traditional bookshops, arrange it yourself.
